Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso, chilled — about 2 ounces total; or use strong brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup cold brew concentrate — optional substitute; dilute to taste if using
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk — barista-style preferred for extra creaminess
- 1–2 teaspoons zero-calorie sweetener — liquid stevia/monk fruit or allulose; adjust to taste
- 1/4–1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch fine sea salt — optional, brightens flavor
- 1 1/2–2 cups ice cubes — large cubes melt slower
- 1 dash ground cinnamon or unsweetened cocoa powder — for garnish
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream — optional for extra richness; adds carbs/calories
- 1 scoop unflavored collagen peptides — optional protein; dissolves well cold
- 1–2 tablespoons unsweetened coconut milk — optional alternative for creaminess
Instructions
- Pull two shots of espresso or prepare very strong coffee/cold brew concentrate, then let it cool completely.
- Fill a tall glass three-quarters full with large ice cubes.
- Pour the chilled espresso or strong coffee over the ice.
- Stir in the sweetener and vanilla; if using granulated sweetener, stir vigorously until fully dissolved.
- Slowly pour in the unsweetened almond milk to your preferred strength (about half coffee, half milk is balanced).
- Add a tiny pinch of salt to brighten flavors and reduce bitterness, if desired.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or ice, then finish with a dusting of cinnamon or cocoa if you like.
- For extra creaminess, stir in heavy cream or a splash of unsweetened coconut milk; collagen can be added and stirred to dissolve.
- Serve right away while ice is intact and the latte is cold and silky.
- Refrigerate brewed espresso or strong coffee for up to 4 days; assemble with fresh ice when ready to drink.
Notes
Store brewed espresso or strong coffee in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 4 days (cold brew up to 1 week). Keep almond milk chilled separately and assemble with fresh ice just before serving to avoid dilution. For a grab-and-go version, combine coffee, almond milk, sweetener, and vanilla in a jar without ice and chill; add fresh ice right before drinking.
